would stay here again despite the snafus.. houses charm and location make up for its shortcomings

the location can't be beat and the house is so charming....it needs a little sprucing up and the rooms were pretty musty as if they hadn't been opened in weeks..the host was out of town, so i think this fell on whomever was caring for the property....the rooms have so much character and are very spacious...surprising attention to some details like the plush bath towels and the toiletries....the courtyard as our group's morning meeting place and the rooftop patios for our nightly cocktail was an added bonus and made this location more special than staying in a hotel

cleanliness...bedding....check in....if we had been given the code to the front door instead of it being sent via text while we were travelling and not receiving cell service, our first impression would have been better

Super location, you can walk to almost any place in the...

Super location, you can walk to almost any place in the central area, very quiet and very beautiful house that made you feel like living in the old days of Guanajuato, highly recommended. Great coffee just around the corner!

Internet was slow sometimes during the weekend, but OK the rest of the time.

What would you highlight about Antigua Casa de Musica

Well-located, beautiful, clean, welcoming.

Location is amazing - close to all the main attractions in the old town, but not right in the middle of the traffic. So you can still get a good sleep. The place itself is beautiful - I felt like I was walking into a medieval home. The rooftop terrace is gorgeous. It's also very clean and I felt right at home. The property host Duncan was so accommodating and welcoming. We rushed to find a place very late at night and he accepted us, made us feel right at home. Thank you so much!

If you have cat allergies, you might feel it a bit.

Rustic but comfortable suites in centrally located historic house

Spacious suite (Coyote) in a historic house - rustic with old fixtures but quite charming and comfortable. Good shower. Shared outdoor spaces. Excellent location. Welcoming and helpful British host. Good value for money

Lack of kettle or coffee maker to make hot drinks. No air con but portable fan supplied for the bedroom when requested

Authentic and rustic, but faulty/insecure door

The style of the hotel was absolutely amazing and the owners have put a lot of effort into making the place as authentic as possible. The room was exactly like the photos. If you prefer rustic hotels with character then this is perfect for you.

The door to our room (original wooden saloon style) didn't lock properly and could be opened simply by pushing on it. When we arrived we were told that the door lock was awkward but was secure, this wasn't the case. (Not sure if we just had a dodgy lock and the other rooms are ok?) The door was only secure when we were on the inside. We couldn't find anyone to help with the door and even though the main door to the hotel was locked we didn't feel safe leaving our belongings there for long periods of time.

Can’t wait to go back!

My wife experienced a medical emergency requiring a trip to the hospital and Duncan was absolutely wonderful in helping us, he met us at the hospital and stayed with us for most of night, making sure we would be ok. I can’t say enough about his kindness and help.

What would you highlight about Antigua Casa de Musica

Amazing stay!

Everything was amazing: the location, the facilities and the host. It is an easy and lovely walk to the city centre. We rented three double rooms and felt that we had the whole place for ourselves. Duncan (the owner/manager) was great, he got in touch with us in advance to ensure we will have no trouble getting to the hotel/suites and his recommendations were really good. Do try the coffee shop next door (Cafetal - Duncan's recommendation) it is has one of the greatest hot chocolates I have ever tried and the coffee is fantastic. Would definitely go back next time I am in Guanajuato!

The first night was a bit cold, but Duncan gave us more blankets for the second night and problem solved! :)

Owner emailed us the door code to the property and had the key to our room on the door

Great photos of the apt, too bad the ameneties weren"t there, almost like camping.

Close to town, rustic look

Almost NO amenities, missing many comforts, terrible cleaning. Difficult sometime to contact owner when we had problems, NO WATER, NO GAS, NO UTENSILS FOR COOKING, MISSING LID ON BLENDER, MINIMAL EATING UTENSILS, NO KITCHEN CLEANUP MATERIAL,MISSING HAIR DRIER, TOO MUCH MORE.
